Boulder Green Building Guild (BGBG)
Adam Stenftenagel, Principal of Sustainably Built, is a founding member of the Boulder Green Building Guild, a Boulder non-profit dedicated to making green building common practice. BGBG is an association of building professionals who promote healthier, resource-efficient homes and work places. Since February 2004, BGBG has been promoting green building through workshops, events, a quarterly magazine, and an informative website. Adam currently serves on the board of BGBG, sits on the membership and journal committess, and has helped build new functionality into the website.
Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC)
The Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC) is a non-profit organization that is committed to leading Colorado residents, businesses, and governments toward a sustainable future. CRC programs are delivered through three divisions: Energy Center of the Rockies (ECR) (which includes the Green Building Program), ReSource, and Western Water Conservancy. Sustainably Built consults for the CRC on various projects including the Residential Energy Audit Program (R.E.A.P.)
Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET)
In April 1995, the National Association of State Energy Officials and Energy Rated Homes of America founded the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages. RESNET provides a strict set of standards, quality assurance, testing, and verification that help ensure the consistency of the ratings. Sustainably Built is a rater member of RESNET.
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization composed of leaders from all areas of the building industry, working to advance buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Driving its mission to transform the built environment is the Council’s LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™.
LEED for Homes (LEED-H) is a rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes. In order to achieve a LEED-H certification, a rater must be hired to verify and test the project. Mark Bloomfield with Sustainably Built is a LEED-H Green Rater, and can help you through the entire process of achieving certification for your home. Sustainably Built is also a member of the Colorado chapter of USGBC.
Energy Star
ENERGY STAR qualified products and practices help save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE. The ENERGY STAR label also designates superior energy performance in homes and buildings.
