RESNET Certified Home Energy Rater
In April 1995, the National Association of State Energy Officials and Energy Rated Homes of America founded the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages. RESNET created the Home Energy Rating System, or HERS, as a national standard for rating the energy efficiency of residential buildings in the U.S.
RESNET provides a strict set of standards, quality assurance, testing and verification that help ensure the consistency of the ratings. A rating done on the East Coast by one firm has the same results as would another done by a firm on the West Cost, if the house and climate were identical.
Adam Stenftenagel, Principal of Sustainably Built, is a RESNET Certified Home Energy Rater, and can provide the rating services required to obtain Energy Star Ratings, LEED for Homes certifications, Energy Efficient Mortgages, as well as ratings required for building permits in the City of Boulder (Effective Feb 2, 2008), Boulder County (Effective Spring 2008), and any jurisdiction that has adopted the IECC 2006 energy codes.
LEED® Accredited Professional
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization composed of leaders from across the building industry working to advance buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Since its founding in 1993, USGBC has been focused on fulfilling the building and construction industry’s vision for its own transformation to high-performance green building. Driving its mission to transform the built environment is the Council’s LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™.
LEED for Homes is a rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes. In order to achieve a LEED for Homes certification, a rater must be hired to verify and test the project. Sustainably Built is a LEED rater under the providorship of Architectural Energy Corporation and can help you through the entire process of achieving certification for your home.
